Day and Night at San Miguel de Allende

This is how most of our mornings start.
Roosters crowing: “cock-a-doodle-do”
Doves cooing, cooeding
Birds chirping, whistling
Hot air balloons so close flying by
At times I can see people in the basket
Sun rolls over mountain
My tea getting could
Its chilly, early mornings.
This is how day ends
Not too often, clouds are here
View from roof top terrace,
Above the city….
But if they are
They come directly from behind mountain
Effortless to see them from our little casita
Darkness takes over sky
Settles down step by step
Yes, light fights its way through
Practicing Qi Gong is a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Learn Shaking Body Like a Tree as one of Qi Gong practice:
Come on your toes
Land down and feel the ground with your feet
Your feet sink
Your shoulders sink
Your chest sinks
Ground Qi from your tail bone all the way to the ground
First put your hands around bally bottom and feel Qi
And now let your stomach sink too
Feel it and now let your neck head rise, without pulling shoulders up. You can tack slightly chin in.
Everything sunk, but head and head pulls up towards heaven
And once you lean how to control but at the same time to let it go you fell energy
Concentrate and start shaking
Your feet shake
Your buttocks shake
Your stomach shakes
Your waist shakes
Your shoulders shake
Your neck shakes
Your hands shake
Your face shakes
Your cheeks shake
Your mouth shakes
Your hair shakes
Keep shaking till you feel that you are losing the sense of time and thoughts are gone and your are in standing, shaking meditation.
Note: to release tension in the bally area, go around belly button with gentle pushing movement with your fingers and feel if there is any tension around it; stay on this spot and massage it gently, till tension dissipates.

Things One Can See Only in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

ItIt is common to have open bazaars all around San Miguel de Allende. This one is on the back of Marcedo Sano, a beautiful large organic prejudice market. This Bazaar is open every Saturday, from early morning to about 6pm. Vendors come from all around, sell fresh produce, clothes, jewelry, articrafts, clothes, even massages. This photo depicts a family cooking mexican street food just in front of your eyes and serving it out of this traditional clay cookware.

This is an islamic influence on architecture in San Miguel de Allende. Which is related Moriscos (Spanish: [moˈɾiskos], Catalan: [muˈɾiskus]; Portuguese: mouriscos [mo(w)ˈɾiʃkuʃ]; Spanish for “Moorish”) were former Muslims and their descendants whom the Roman Catholic Church and the Spanish Crown commanded to convert to Christianity or face compulsory exile after Spain outlawed the open practice of Islam. Inflcnace is not only in architecture but also in food. This type of Gairo places can be found all along San Antonio Ancha. Lam, cooked over open fire and sliced thin for serving.

Food served all over along San Antonio Ancha. Food served in small eateries, in larger restaurants, out of residents backyards, side entries, from cars. Click on the photo to see what TripAdvisory offers as best along Ancha, which may not necessarily be the truth.

Every morning starts with sweeping and washing streets. Each single vendor once they open shops, start sweeping first, after washing streets and sidewalks in front of their stores. Washing has to do not only with cleaning or deflecting hot air with water, but also driving bad (evil) spirits away, who gather around during night. My mother used to do it every single morning too.

Outside bar on Orizaba, Colonia San Antonio is open every night. They start preparing around 6pm, open at 7opm and stay open till 11pm-12am. They serve Mexican Street food and Margaritas too. Place called Exquistos Tacos by Diana

Coach had been striped with rope and pooled from ground all the way to the 3rd floor.

This man sells plants everyday. He gets his plans on Ancha, in corner nursery and brings them directly to your home. This morning those hedraganies looks gorgeous! FYI -corer nursery is never locked, all it has a little chain owners put at night. Nobody steals anything.

Same coach. Different angle. Person holding it on the second floor, while one from ground level runs to the 3rd floor, to help person on 3rd floor to pool it up.

Early morning clean-up

Different moring, same lady, same clean up.

Another day on Orizaba. Family sells food on the street.

Old gentleman pooling and pushing cart loaded with old wooden boxes.

And here another old gentleman. I do not know what he had on the cart, but it was not easy for him. Mexicans are one of the most hardworking people on the planet.

Streets and sidewalks in San Miguel de Allende are made out of stone, this does not keep older people from going out and about on their own.
Dear reader, as you can see San Miguel de Allende is very interesting and at times exotic place to be.

Grain Free Avocado Brownie

If you are a dessert lover, you know that finding a healthy and delicious one, which would be low in calories, is not an easy task.
Traditional brownies are often high in inflammatory ingredients such as flour, processed sugar, and pasteurized hormone filled dairy, and thus raise blood sugar, and the levels of cortisol(stress hormone) and insulin (fat storage) and lead to weight gain, mood issues, and hormonal imbalances.
On the other hand, the brownies we are suggesting today are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats!
This is due to the remarkable properties of the main ingredient- avocado!
These fruits are one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, as they are rich sources of essential amino acids, fatty acids, and antioxidant phytonutrients.
Moreover, avocados are abundant in oleic acid, which is a monounsaturated fat that increases fat metabolism, the carotenoid antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin, and Vitamin E (tocopherol). These antioxidants reduce oxidative stress and support the health of the cellular environment.
Avocadoes are also high in ionic potassium and folate, which alkalize the body and help the elimination of acidic wastes from the body.
Here is how to prepare grain-and-sugar-free avocado brownies:
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup mashed avocado (about 1/2 an avocado)
- 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato
- 1/2 cup creamy nut butter (almond, cashew, tahini, etc)
- 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 1/4 cup coconut milk
- 3 tablespoons cacao powder
Instructions:
Bake Time: 20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 325° F, and line a regular size loaf pan with parchment paper, or grease it with coconut oil. Then, leave the chocolate chips aside, and blend all other ingredients in a blender. When they are mixed well, add the chocolate chips, and transfer the batter to the loaf pan.
Use a spoon to level the batter across the pan evenly, as it will be sticky and thick. Bake for 20 minutes.
Photo totally not brownie related but its mine and a like the cheerfulness of it! We all know how brownie looks like!
